Hey there, welcome! Today I re-released my blog!

My name is Alexander Fahlke and I’m the author of fahlke.org.
I write this blog to share my ideas and projects with you.

I’m currently working for INFORMERA GmbH & Co. KG in Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany.

I had the idea to create a blog in early 2011, while I was “playing” with Hadoop. My biggest problem, as I started, was the poor documentation and the less (good) examples and tutorials for beginners you can find online. I will try to fill this gap by showing examples, creating tutorials and making tools for you.

Today BigData becomes more and more important, so I’m trying to cover the whole spectrum of this. There  are many open-source tools to do that – eg. Nutch, HBase, Solr and Lucene.
